The old Police Academy restaurant, located on Washington Blvd. has reopened under a new name and brand new management. The past management had a menu that consisted largely of police training and crime prevention, which was based upon an actual concern
for officers. The brand new Cultural Diversity Bar and Grill , has revamped their entire
menu to consist entirely of sensitivity toward and excepting excuses from those who chose
to not obey society's laws and regulations. Most of these dishes are covered with a thick
glaze of failure to take responsibility for one's own behavior simmered in a pungent
marinade of racial insensitivity. Some of the dishes found on this unlimited smorgasbord of
crap are very hard to swallow, and loud belching and severe flatulence could be the result.
There are those who might find that last statement offensive, but not nearly as offensive
as having a convicted felon educated by the penal system and paid for with our tax dollars,
teach at the Pittsburgh Police Academy. The City of Pittsburgh does not contribute one
dime to the continuing education of their own officers. Wouldn't this money have been
better spent having Calibre Press in to do an officer safety seminar?
The task of a Police Officer is difficult enough without having to succumb to the fallout
effects of the mayor and our own administration's capitulation to the wants and whims of
those who have no respect for the law enforcement community and continue to make
excuses for criminal behavior by pushing the blame on someone else. I represent the City
of Pittsburgh, the State of Pennsylvania and the Government of the United States without
passion or prejudice. All members of the public either obey the laws or break the laws.
The members of the Bureau of Police are entrusted to enforce the laws which keep
civilized society intact. When I arrive at a critical scene I will do my best to insure the
safety of the victims and every law abiding citizen.
As for the criminal element, the city can force me to attend a thousand training classes
where my horticultural awareness is heightened and enhanced. I'll get two days pay to
fondle and caress all the grapes the city wants me to. But, if the actor disregards my
commands, challenges my authority, or encroaches my safety zone and threatens me in any
manner, I will squash him like a grape. Contrary to this recent training, it's irrelevant
whether or not the actor or the police officer were raised in a single parent home or wet the bed as children. These classes, though providing interesting food for thought about the struggles within today's society, are damming, self defeating and dangerous in a tactical situation.
It takes "grande huevos" for this administration to question my ethics, values or integrity.
Without naming names, try taking a look in your own backyard. Let those among you
without sin, cast the first stone. Before the city administration subjects me to a class that
insinuates my ethics are in question, maybe they should take a good hard look at their
own.
